Moving through Grief with Yoga

Grief is one of the heaviest emotions we carry, and when we are in the depths of sadness, the last thing we want to hear is that there is something to be learned from it. In the midst of loss, we often feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or even angry at the suggestion that there could be meaning in our suffering. And yet, deep inside, we know that we will eventually emerge from this place—changed, but still standing. Holding onto that truth, even when it feels distant, can help guide us forward.

Another truth, though difficult to accept, is that the only way out of grief is through it. Sitting with sadness takes immense courage—the belief that we can bear the weight of it and the faith that we will come out the other side. Grief teaches us surrender. It reminds us that change is inevitable and that healing cannot be rushed.

In this gentle yoga workshop, we will explore the emotions we hold in the body after loss. Through breathwork, slow movement, and long-held postures, we will create space for release. Reiki energy healing will be offered as a heart-opening cleanse, helping to move the stagnant energy that grief often leaves behind.

Grief looks different for all of us. There is no "right" way to process or heal. But in this space, you are invited to breathe, to feel, and to be gentle with yourself.
